This team is challenged daily to provide cutting edge technology solutions to our clients.Primary Duties, Responsibilities, & Essential Job Functions:PURPOSE OF THE JOB:Under minimal supervision, solicits requirements, develops user stories and documents capabilities necessary to deploy and manage software, operating systems, and physical hardware to include commodity servers, Cisco network appliances, and other specialized network components in support of software development activities.Employs systems management best practices and has familiarity supporting with a wide variety of Java based technologies on the Linux Operating System.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Define systems specifications to support data I/O and retention requirements.Supports configuration modification and troubleshooting of Cisco ASA 5540 Appliance.Supports configuration modification and troubleshooting of Cisco 2811 Router.Supports configuration modification and troubleshooting of Cisco 3560G Switch.Supports configuration modification and troubleshooting of Bluecoat PacketShaper 1500.Manages an Apache Hadoop cluster.Manage MapReduce jobs and their effect on the cluster.Manage network load on the systems.Ensure I/O is beneath desired tolerance.Assist in the development of consolidated software deployment/installation techniques using RedHat Package Management (RPMs) and Puppet configuration modules & manifests.Manage and upgrade a myriad of software applications on the Linux Operating System platform (RHEL 5.4 & 6.2).Scientific Research Corporation offers a competitive salary, an extensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages excellence.
