Details: Title: Software EngineerReports to: Senior Manager – Software DevelopmentDirect Reports: NoneLocation: Santa Clara, CADescription:The Software Engineer position is part of the SAVVIS Symphony VPDC Group under the CTO Office. This group of elite engineers will architect and develop the industry first Enterprise grade Virtual Private Data Center (VPDC) with multiple grades of services. Define cloud automation architecture to scale in provisioning volume and performance. Work closely with other development and infrastructure teams on “use case” definitions. Create detailed design documents, process diagrams and develop interfaces to automate compute, storage and network subsystems provisioning and error handling. Position Objectives: Develop cloud automation software to scale in provisioning volume, performance and global deployment.Develop highly scalable Cloud Middleware and Automation platform that interfaces with different subsystems.Work with various internal and external teams on defining a set of standard APIs for each application subsystem.Translate functional requirements into technical and API specifications.Work with cross functional teams and lead design discussions on future functions.Mentor and motivate team members to ensure high productivity, collaboration and team work.Required skills: 1+ years of Software design and development experience for complex enterprise systems.Strong Java programming skills with recent hands-on experience.Strong Experience in J2EE frameworks including Spring, Hibernate, DAO and JMS.Experience in data modeling and SQL development using MySQL.Experience in developing highly available (HA) and secured SOAP and RESTFul based web services using Spring Web Services and Apache Axis.Understanding of VMWare Virtualization technologies is a plus.Must be a team player, flexible, self-motivated and analytical with excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
