Construction Tech Support

Details: The Shaw Group provides premier engineering, design, construction, and maintenance services to government and private-sector clients in a wide array of industries, including the energy, environmental, infrastructure, and emergency response markets.Summary:Support construction management and engineering at site in preparation of daily/weekly reports, gathering data, obtaining drawings/deliverables from vendors and home office engineering. Has experience and knowledge of construction methods and activities. May evaluate and interpret drawings and data. Provide help with system turnover, system walkdowns, red-lining drawings to reflect as-built condition.Responsibilities:•This is a non-exempt position responsible for the supervision of employees performing decontamination and remediation activities in assigned work areas.•Must work closely with Radiological Control personnel, Planning/Production personnel and various Engineering groups to maintain schedule fidelity.•Maintenance and remediation activities associated with work performed in the program requires detailed job planning and highly trained personnel in order to minimize radiation exposure and prevent the spread of radioactivity to areas where the general public might be affected.Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:•Supervise the progress of decontamination/remediation activities.•Provide Supervisory oversight and leadership for all personnel under his/her charge to ensure the highest possible safety; environmental, radiological, and operational standards are kept.•Maintain each individual work area and crew under his/her supervision with adequate materials and equipment. Ensure that all work efforts under his/her control are performed in a safe and efficient manner.•Serve as the operations liaison between various work groups in the field, and between the seller and buyer follow groups. Responsible to know the field status of all jobs under his/her status.•Keeps the Operations Manager, Radiological and Engineering groups informed on the radiological status of the job.•Assigns individual crew personnel to specific assignments.•Assures that radiological controls, individual training, and work practices are commensurate with conditions as found at the work site.•Audits work in-progress to assure compliance with established procedures.•Tracks personnel exposure at the job site, making sure available personnel have adequate exposure to complete the task.•Control the completion of routine and non-routine operations, ensuring that all work is planned and deadlines are targeted so as to maintain schedule fidelity.Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:•Requires a minimum of 5 years of management experience with responsibility for radiological and environmental decontamination and decommissioning projects.•Requires the selected candidate to qualify as a Production Radiological Controls Supervisor (PRCS).•Prior Naval Nuclear or Naval Reactors program experience is strongly preferred.•Must be a US Citizen; no dual citizenship.•Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" Security Clearance.
